I was introduced to
financial markets at the age
of 8 by some weird names and
images of charts in the
newspaper that made no
sense. I was astounded when
people told me that the
stock market was a gamble
and I should probably try to
stay away from it.
Fast forward to the age of
16, I was a young fresher
who started pursuing a
computer science degree. My
university(LPU) had been the
most diverse place I have
been to in terms of
cultures, people and
languages. Computers have
been the only thing I
aspired to work for. Still,
this tiny spark for
financial markets was turned
to blazing fire when I came
to know that I had a choice
to choose Finance as a
Side-Major.
Without skipping a beat, I
signed up for the major in
financial markets, which
introduced me to a new
spectrum of possibilities. I
saw a different world, from
commodity markets to the
latest crypto markets; it
was fascinating to
understand the complex
financial systems that run
the world.
I started learning
Behavioural Finance to
understand the influence
of psychology on the
behaviour of human
beings in their
financial
decision-making. It
helps in identifying
dozens of financial
decision-making errors
that can be avoided.
With the newly acquired
knowledge, I started trading
initially by manually
placing orders on different
trading platforms. But as my
programming knowledge grew,
I began designing systems to
analyse charts. I have also
been investing in crypto and
NFT markets.
Nowadays, I work on
designing systems for
quantitative trading by
exploring different avenues
of machine learning and
learning Behavioural
Finance.
